Over four years ago Affordable Language Services embarked on a mission to become ISO 9001:2008 certified in the delivery of translations and interpreting services. After over a year of preparation, we passed our first external audit in the fall of 2010 and became ISO certified.
ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems. Adherence to this standard ensures that all types of organizations achieve standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world.
Globally, a small percentage of language service providers (LSPs) are ISO certified. Why? The simple answer is that becoming ISO certified is expensive, laborious, and does not guarantee increased revenue.
In 2010 Lynn Elfers, CEO and Owner of Affordable Language Services, said, “We take quality very seriously. For us, obtaining ISO 9001:2008 Certification was certainly a rigorous process, but well worth it. Ensuring our clients receive the best possible service from us is paramount.”
We are pleased to announce that as of July 15th, 2013, our ISO 9001:2008 certification has been approved for another 3 years!
We received our renewal after successfully completing our most recent external audit. Four consecutive years of ISO 9001:2008 certification reflects our commitment to consistent quality in language services.
